A digital illustration exercise with one goal: make a character feel confident through pose and fabric alone — no background, no props, no story crutches.
02 · The idea
Everything leans into attitude. The hand-on-hip stance creates a strong triangular silhouette; the slightly lowered chin and side glance do the talking. A restrained palette — white shirt, dark hair, charcoal trousers — keeps all attention on posture, expression, and the way light rolls across the rolled sleeves and bandaged wrist (one small storytelling detail allowed through).
03 · Process & outcome
Built from a gesture sketch outward: silhouette first, then soft-brush fabric shading to keep folds painterly rather than rendered. The warm accent at the collar was the final touch, pulling the eye up the figure to the face. Studies like this feed directly into client character and mascot work.
