Case Study: Personal Monogram
Brief · idea · process.
01 · The brief
Every designer eventually faces their hardest client: themselves. The brief was a personal mark for Isaiah J. Long — one letter, memorable at favicon size, honest about where the work is headed.

02 · The idea
An “L” drawn in two-point perspective so it reads as a rising tower seen from the street — a nod to my love of architectural drawing (see the city concept study). The split between the two faces of the letter is the negative-space “spine” that makes the mark recognizable even as a tiny silhouette.
03 · Process & outcome
Dozens of flat “L” sketches felt static; tilting the letter into perspective gave it motion and a skyline association worth keeping. The mark ships in two colorways — the bright cobalt version used in this site’s navigation, and a dark variant in deep navy for watermarks and dark-mode applications, shown in the logo portfolio.
